A little about us...

Coro Nostro is a mixed chamber Choir of about 30 members of all ages, backgrounds and musical histories. Members are drawn from across the Universities, Leicester City and County, UK and beyond.

We have a wide repertoire (which you can check out by following the link above) of sacred and secular polyphonic motets, madrigals and part songs ranging from the 13th to the 21st Century including 3 new pieces written especially for us by Anthony Pither, and a motet, 'O Eve!', written in 2007, and dedicated to Robert Kenny and the choir by American composer Frank La Rocca. Professor La Rocca came over from Oakland for the first performance at Christmas 2007.

We receive much praise from the public for the quality of our musicianship, variety of our repertoire and authenticity and clarity of our diction and expression. A lively and friendly group, we always welcome new singers, whether relative beginners or experienced choral singers.

Join us and make beautiful music!

Coro Nostro is always on the lookout for new members in all sections. Young singers with reasonable sight-reading skills are particularly welcome. With a friendly atmosphere (and, for those who like it, an active social scene) Coro Nostro is a great place to sing, socialise, but most of all to make beautiful music.

So, if you are interested in joining the Coro family, or would like to come along to a rehearsal to see what we are like, then please email our conductor, Dr. Robert Kenny.
